Chuck and Sheri Bowen found over 4,000 battle and village related artifacts at the Lost Sand Creek Site, all starting over two miles up the creek from the National Park Service Sand Creek Site. The Bowens’ incredible discovery shows where Black Kettle’s village was camped and where fighting took place. The artifacts were found scattered over several miles and in various directions.
