By Mike Bowen, co-author, We Found the Lost Sand Creek Site
Historian Jesse Melton gave a presentation on the Towner Bus Tragedy on October 19, 2017.
The Towner Bus Tragedy, also known as the Pleasant Hill School Bus tragedy, took place on March 26, 1931 in Southeast Colorado during a blizzard which resulted in the death of the bus driver and five children.
Melton’s presentation focused on where, when and why it happened.
