Did Indians kill soldiers at Sand Creek?

By Mike Bowen, co-author, We Found the Lost Sand Creek Site

Watch the video below as Mike Bowen reads excerpts from Colorado 3rd soldier Morse Coffin’s book, The Battle of Sand Creek. The book was originally published as letters Coffin wrote to the Colorado Sun newspaper in 1879. He was one of the first to write about Sand Creek. This video is part two of a three-part series. Check out part one here: MorseCoffin

Coffin writes about the soldier Robert McFarland, known as Mac, who was killed at Sand Creek. Fellow soldier and friend, James Carr, wrote a letter about finding Mac’s body on the battlefield. He provides more information concerning what he found. Check our film about Carr’s letter: JamesCarr
