By Mike Bowen, co-author, We Found the Lost Sand Creek Site
Chuck and Mike metal detected last week at the Bowen Meadow Ranch, which includes part of the Lost Sand Creek Site.
According to an 1880 survey map, there was a spot marked as a Cabin and Claim. No homestead had been applied for, so it was likely a squatter. There are records of homesteaders out there about 1911.
Make sure to watch the video to see a demonstration with an artifact that Chuck found at the Lost Sand Creek Site.
