What would cause this sinkhole? It goes down five feet and appears to stop. I’ve never seen an animal dig anything like that. A prairie dog hole would have dirt around it. The spring fed pond is 250 yards long and about 215 yards from the sinkhole. It’s fed from the east and not from Sand Creek that runs from the north. We had more rain than normal last year. Sand Creek ran from bank to bank last June. It was the biggest run on this part of the creek since the ‘65 flood. Watch the video below.
